Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)
Programs for VPK vary each year. Please call for more information.
The Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Program (VPK) is a free educational program that prepares children for kindergarten. Children must be 4 years of age and be Florida residents to participate. Children may participate in either a school year program consisting of 540 total instructional hours, or a summer program consisting of 300 total instructional hours.
Our VPK Program provides a caring environment for children to feel welcomed and inspired to learn and play creatively. The curriculum is arranged into units and seasonal themes that provide opportunities to further develop fine motor skills, to learn how to follow directions, problem solve, and to work with others in and out of class. Each child is provided with numerous occasions to create, experiment and discover through their own learning experiences.
VPK operates during regular school days and follows the district’s school-year calendar. Transportation is provided by the parent. Please view the Voluntary Prekindergarten School Year Program page for more information.
