*The Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Program (VPK) is a free*, 9am-12pm, educational program that prepares children for kindergarten. Children must be 4 years of age by September 1st and a Florida residents to participate. You must register your child with Sarasota County and recieve a Certificate of Eligibility to be able to participate in the program.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Our VPK Program provides a caring environment for children to feel welcomed and inspired to learn and play creatively. The curriculum is arranged into units and seasonal themes that provide opportunities to further develop fine motor skills, to learn how to follow directions, problem solve, and to work with others in and out of class. Each child is provided with numerous occasions to create, experiment and discover through their own learning experiences.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n VPK follows the district\u2019s school-year calendar and consists of 540 total instructional hours.
